Sometimes you need a tougher approach to get rid of the most common offenders. No matter what you use on your stainless, the final method should be rinsing with warm water and wiping to dry.

Fingerprints, Oil and Grease

Best removed with a soft cloth, sprayed with some glass cleaner. There are many stainless steel cleaners on the market of which we have found the Hallmark stainless steel cleaner to be the best.

Tea and Coffee Stains

Can be removed by soaking in a solution of boiling water and baking powder.

Sticky Labels

These are often all over new products. Gentle heat from a hair dryer or heat gun will assist in removing these. If you have any pots/pans you can put these in the oven before peeling off the labels.

Rust Marks

Apply a cream cleanser for with a soft damp cloth and rub gently. If you find the mark still won’t shift, you can use a proprietary stainless steel cleaner. Make sure you handle this approach with care as the stainless cleaner is usually based on dangerous chemicals. After cleaning it is important to neutralise the acid with 1% ammonia or baking powder solution, then rinse with warm clean water and wipe dry. Bad rusting can be repaired with professional polishing.

Refrigerated Cabinets should be cleaned on a day to day basis. It’s a very simple and quick procedure. Simply using a soft cloth, Mild detergent and warm water, wipe down the inside and outside of the cabinet and wipe dry. DO NOT use a hose to clean out your cabinets, as there are electricals fitted on the inside of Trent Refrigeration’s cabinets.

Glass is best cleaned with some Windex and paper towel or newspaper.

Door Seals need a little bit more care and attention when cleaning. It is important to clean these daily to ensure they don’t become sticky and tear open. Using a very soft cloth and luke warm soapy water, clean gently between the grooves on the seal being careful not to over extend the seal.
